As an employer, you are responsible for your employees’ actions. Therefore, it is important that your employees have a valid driving licence when they are out on the roads. Regardless of where you operate, whether it involves lorry drivers, crane operators, ambulance drivers, or those who frequently drive for job-related tasks, we help you verify all types of driving licences. Why verifying driving licences with Validata
When your employees work with an invalid driving licence, your company is partly responsible. You are jointly responsible for accidents, breaches of legal regulations, and the company’s failure to meet agreements with, for example, customers or suppliers.
In Sweden, it is mandatory to ensure personnel if you are bound by collective agreements. In some sectors, it may also be obligatory to take out contractual insurance for your employees, such as in parts of the construction industry. Failure to insure your employees can lead to sanctions.
Failing to follow the rules on driving licence checks can lead to hefty fines and potentially damage the company’s image.
 How exactly is the driving licence verified?
When the candidate uploads a copy of their driving licence into Valluga, it must meet quality requirements. For instance, the copy must not be overexposed or blurry. The candidate must then state the country where the driving licence was issued and whether the licence has ever been stolen or lost.
Additionally, Mitek checks if the passport, ID card, or driving licence appears in the VIS register (Verification Identification System) and/or in international lists like Interpol. These registers cover all documents previously reported stolen or missing.
Our data partner uses algorithms to verify authenticity. Additionally, an expert also reviews the driving licence. Therefore, even international driving licences can be checked though us.

How long does it take to verify a driving licence?
When a copy of the driving licence is uploaded by the candidate, no discrepancies are found by the algorithm, and the expert does not doubt the licence, the processing time is less than one working day.
If the copy is not of good quality, a new copy is requested, which delays the process. The process is also delayed if there are discrepancies and/or doubts about a driving licence.

Step 2: Choose a screening profile
Select the correct screening profile for the candidate.
Step 3: Fill in the candidate's details
The candidate’s name, email address, and cell phone number are requested.
Step 4: Candidate provides information
The candidate receives an email with their login details and goes through their screening.
Step 5: Screening is processed
Validata verifies the candidate’s input with its data partners.
Step 6: Screening is completed
Once the screening is completed, both candidate and client will receive a message that the screening report can be downloaded.

Both the employer and the employee can see the interim reports right after our screening consultants have completed the check. When all types of checks are complete, both candidates and clients can download a final report. A notification will be sent to both.
Can I access my screening account anytime and anywhere?
Yes, you can access the progress and results of the screening anytime and anywhere through our screening application. You only need internet access to log in to your account.
No, in Sweden and some other European countries, driver’s licenses are not valid identification documents. More often, you need a national ID card or passport. However, for the driver’s license check, you need to upload a valid and authentic driver’s license card.
