Since 2013, the Maasstad Ziekenhuis has been using Validata’s screening software. At the time, the hospital was looking for a solution to check the competence of its employees. Even before the Healthcare Quality, Complaints and Disputes Act (Wkkgz) came into effect, the Maasstad Ziekenhuis wanted to guarantee the quality of its care. It also started the procedure for JCI accreditation, where the competence of employees plays a crucial role.

New challenges when guaranteeing the quality requirements

Both the objective to guarantee the quality requirements of employees and obtaining JCI accreditation created new challenges. Firstly, the deadlines; From JCI’s first audit, a healthcare institution has three years to screen all of its employees. Secondly, the capacity; both new and current staff should be screened in a similar manner and in compliance with current privacy laws and regulations. To achieve this, an average hospital should engage several employees on a full-time basis. Thirdly, the verification of data at primary sources; Validata’s partnership with professional organisations creates fast and high-quality results.

The above mentioned developments and corresponding challenges were the reason why Maasstad Ziekenhuis outsourced its screening process. Working together with Validata lead to obtaining JCI accreditation and guaranteeing the competence of their employees.
